Portfolio

This page includes various examples of my work over the last 35 years. I’ve grouped it by type of art to give you a better idea of the kinds of things you, too, can create.

Creativity requires the courage to let go of certainties.

Paintings
This collection is comprised by those I created while working on my certifications as a Red Thread Intentional Creativity Guide and a Color of Woman Intentional Creativity Teacher through Musea.org. A few are acrylic on watercolor paper and the rest are on canvas. They are in chronological order. Visit my YouTube channel to see progress videos of some of the paintings:

Art Journals
The type of art I’ve worked on the longest has been my art journals. I use them as a form of problem solving, as well as a way to explore fun or even problematic ideas. I don’t make as any of them anymore, because I don’t experience as much stress and anxiety as I did before I retired. That’s a great thing!

Artist Trading Cards
I’ve probably done more of these than anything else. At last count, I had photos of over 700 of these.

Zentangles(r) and Drawings
My drawings are so often filled with Zentangle like shapes and lines that include them together. I find drawing very relaxing, particularly since I gave up trying to draw anything realistic.

The Sea World scene (first drawing) was done in black ink by me, then colored in with little critters added by James Waller. You’ll see in others that I’ve drawn around shapes left by paint on paper (it’s how I use up paint when I don’t need it on the canvas), or around paper shapes I’ve torn and assembled to resemble an animal in the style of Carla Sonheim.

Art Quilts
These are some of my favorites. I’ve made quite a few quilts–almost 500 of them, about half traditional patchwork and half art quilts. I ran a quilt ministry for several years and my group made many quilts give away as housewarming and healing gifts.
